My friends are always very willing to be models for whenever I want to do photo things. I was talking to my roommate about doing something with fake blood because I thought it would be cool. We talked to our other friend about doing it and he went all in for it. We wound up buying a bruise wheel and latex and different sorts of make up stuff in order to have more variety. The "blood" we found a recipe for online and is chocolate syrup with red food coloring, so as long as it wasn't mixed with any of the actual make up or latex, it was edible. We spent four days practicing and then doing actual pictures. In the end it kinda looked like we had murdered someone in my basement bathroom.
This is from the first night we started messing around and practicing with the fake blood. These are literally just drawn lines of "blood". I'm pretty sure there was no latex used with these.
This was from the second night. This was a combination of latex, cotton balls, maybe Sharpie? and then the fake blood. My mom hated it, she thought it was disgusting.
Lanie was thrilled to do this.
This is what the wound looked like when all the blood was washed off. Personally, I think it looks ten times more disgusting because it looks like some burn or infection and just blech...
The night before we did the actual photo shoot stuff, everyone stayed over. This was after we bought the bruise wheel so my friend started to practice with it.
While we were waiting for them to finish some of the other injuries on other people, Hannah dipped her hands into the "blood" and we did some stuff with the white sheets my mom let us use. The sheet is draped over both of us and I managed to get some of the chocolate blood on my own hands and arms.
Her smiling really creeped me out. I mean really.
I'm glad I have actor/actress friends, it is incredibly handy for things like this. She is a fantastic actress and the facial expressions she made were awesome.
We did some of injuries on two of my friends backs so it looked like wings had been ripped away. I didn't post any of the actual ones, but towards the end we cut up some of the shirts we had bought and wound up with this. The shirts wound up sticking to their backs when the fake blood dried and that was a interesting process.
Some of my favorite pictures from the weekend I can't actually post. The friend of mine who was in them is a model and I can't post them due to his contract. Though they would still be good for a portfolio or something like that.
